Exotic Tropics

Exotic Tropics is a redesign of a local pet store in Cookeville, actually named Exotic Tropicals. They’ve been around for a long time and sell more exotic types of pets and fish. I found that their current brand identity is second to none, so I revamped their brand with a focus on some of the more exotic animal breeds that they tend to sell and a tropical beachy-feel. I also wanted to do something a little different and created a mockup for a cardboard pet carrier.

TropiTwist

TropiTwist is a fictional brand I created to challenge myself to make a brand identity that has to adapt to different flavors or variations of products. A soda brand was a fun way to do this, as I could create my own flavors and name them as I’d like, while creating a colorful and bubbly brand identity. In this project, I created three vector illustrations, one for each flavor, and made a typography-centered logo for the brand. I relied heavily on color and illustrations to communicate the brand identity.

Iris

For this project, I created a faux paint brand company called Iris with the intention of not using color as a brand identifier as a constraint for myself. The idea was to be able to create a cohesive brand identity using only typography, logo design, and non-descript shapes. I wanted to challenge myself to not rely on color for identity, and a paint company was a great way to display my idea and let the paint colors complement the brand identity of Iris.
