Lava Lamp Typeface

Lava Lamp was my first ever exploration into typography. It was a project in my typography class at TTU, and I honestly loved it. I wanted to go for something different that wasn’t a traditional serif or sans serif. I landed on this bubbly, sticky, and a little psychedelic typeface, Lava Lamp. I designed it using FontLab, and it was my first time using any sort of font software, but it was very informative, and I knew I wanted to try some more typography design in the future.

Morning Star Typeface

After creating Lava Lamp, I had always wanted to go back to typography design, but never had a real opportunity until my portfolio class. This time, I knew I wanted to do something more traditional, but I still wanted to keep my touch on it. I designed Morning Star with space and celestial bodies in mind, as they have always fascinated me. The star at the center of the ‘O’ is where I started and went from there, creating a serif typeface that I wanted to use in my portfolio. I don’t think I’ll ever be truly done tweaking it, but for now, I’m happy with where it has ended up.

Frugal Frog UX/UI

Frugal Frog is a conceptual finance app for college students, young adults, and people who want something more to motivate them to keep track of their finances. The idea is that with the app, the user will create a budget, and if they meet goals and stay within their budget, it will positively affect the frog mascot’s mood, and the user can earn rewards to dress their personal frog up. This project was a challenge to learn some new software (Adobe XD) and create a hypothetical app to solve an issue that people face.
